Not particularly in fashion but in life in general.
As a fashion/lifestyle blogger sometimes I find myself questioning my sanity. In a world consumed by terror alerts, recessions and disease I am sipping Prosecco and maniacly pinning pictures of cocktail dresses. Is it okay to choose less dramatic priorities? Turn off the news to watch a YouTube tutorial on creating the perfect cat eye?
I’ve come to the conclusion that no one has ever found the meaning of life in their priorities only in their passions. The line separating priorities and passions gets blurrier the more grown up we become. And no matter how many efforts I’ve made, growing up does in fact seem to be an inevitable process. So yes, we must have priorities – taxes, health insurance, current events, politics, yada yada yada but the inclination to let these things outrank our passions (no matter how frivolous they may seem) is insane. Becoming a slave to reality has never made anyone more of an adult. As I’ve decided to define it, adulthood is the discovery and acceptance of you really are and if who you really are means tweeting about platform shoes then so be it. There will be too many moments where you have no choice but to accept the less favorable parts of life, when you are lucky enough to have a choice – choose brightness.
